lumpy boobs

I don't know how to address this, other than with a little bit of humor, otherwise it just gets overwhelming.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the doctor for a lump under my arm, that they diagnosed as a "spider bite". I grew slightly suspicious when the lump moved from my right arm to my left arm. I didn't know spiderbites could do that. Friday I got another lump, and then Sunday another, both in my right armpit, both slightly painful. I think they get irritated from my arm movements, purse straps, back packs, and bra. The one on my left arm does not hurt.

So, Monday, as soon as I completed my Spanish test (still no grade posted), I made a doctor's appointment on the way to my psych class. They got me in right away. The doctors have decided that my spider bite, was not a spider bite at all, but an inflamed lymphnode they think. Upon examining my lymphnodes, they did a breast exam too. Apparently I have lumpy boobs. I thought it was strange that my boobs have gone from a B cup to a D cup in the last 6 mos. But hey the rest of me has grown too, so I did not think much of it. The doctor asked if I have ever had implants... I was like no, thought about it back in the day, but no... she was like "are you sure?" I was like, lady I think I would remember, if not the surgery, at least the bill. I have a large egg sized lump and several small lumps scattered in both breasts. This is kinda scary. They refered me to a Boob specialist, and because of the number of lumps, were able to get me in super quick. My apt is this coming week.

I read an article once, about mammograms... this lady went for her first boob squish, and just as they smashed em good and tight, the power went out. So, the doctor and the nurse left to investigate. Waiting in the semi dark room, (there was a window) she begins to think that they have forgotton her. Workmen come in the room, and she requests that they assist her out of the machine, "Sorry mam, only certified professionals are allowed to operate this machine" So quite exasperated at this time she exclaims, "Well then go get someone certified" The guy looks at his feet, and replies "well Mam, I would but they have all decided to take an early lunch due to the power outage. " She was stuck in the boob squisher for hours. It has a humorous undertone, but I would be mortified, and terribly pissed off.

I am scheduled for a mammogram and ultrasounds on both boobs, and possible biopsies. My face must haved turned white when the doctor said the word "Mammogram" I was like "but I am not old..."

I have always been a staunch supporter of cancer, breast cancer in particular. I visit the click for free mammograms site often, but today, I thought rather ironic, I got this email.

There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home hours after surgery against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.

Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.

PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not give more than your name and zip code number.

So anywho... It could be a lot of things, breast cancer runs in my paternal side, cystic fibrosis runs in my mothers side, could be fatty tumors... I am hoping it is just lumpy boobs. I asked James, and he said I am not uneven or anything. I sure he hated that job... lol. And look at it this way, how many times have I said boobs in the last five minutes? and who is going to yell at me? I even called them boobs to the doctor, then I asked if that was okay, and she laughed and said it was fine.

I had a psych test today, I tried to study, but nothing seemed to soak in, I would just read the same lines over and over... I was slightly apprehensive to take it, but I think I may have done ok. Reading the chapters before hand really helped. :) I should know tonight.

anywho... an update on the highland games to come.

Hey there Sprite. I will be praying and thinking of you at my prayer times. Even though this could just be lumpy boobs, as your lymphnodes seem to change from swelling on one side to the other. Actually, all boobs do somewhat feel lumpy, yours could be just more so. So don't go thinking the worst ! Mamograms are encouraged for younger women here in Australia too, it used to be for over 50yo women, now they encourage it much earlier, still lets always check when we are in the shower!
Do you like green tea or black? I think every woman should have a cup of that every day.
Keep us updated and don't fear
Lots of love and hugs! xxxxxxxxx

Wow...this sucks...I hope everything is ok.
Do you use anti-persperant?
Cuz that could be a major factor...my girlfriend gets lumps in her armpits sometimes due to this. She has had to switch to natural deodourants to stop this.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll be fine, and I'll pray for you sweetie!

I have to second Dano's comment, that's right, don't use anti perspirants if you are at the moment, I stopped months ago and use pump spray or roll on only.
Still prayin xxxxxxxxxxx

well I really hope it's nothing life-threatening, but anyway I can imagine you're quite flabbergasted about this... and of course you're not old, but stupid things happen to young people too.

I hope everything will go absolutely flawless and if they forget you in that thing. Oew I will stalk them all the way from here (=the Netherlands).

The fact you can tell a funny story about a mammogram shows you're being positive, and you're obviously very brave. I'm thinking positive thoughts for you, too. Good luck.
